Spatio-temporal database and version management

This paper deals with spatio-temporal database and version management. It sets forth the function of spatio-temporal database, advantage over traditional spatial database. Through comparing oriented-object data model with traditional relation, it introduces the predominance of the former. This paper discusses the version management of spatio-temporal database, puts forward the management pattern: multi-user,multi-version, multi-temporal, according to the version in the ArcGIS, it realizes the pattern and resolves some problems such as “conflict”.
