Irregular dimensions are a common issue in the modeling of data warehouse. To solve the problem, a detailed analysis of irregular dimensions in decision modeling practice is proceeded, based on this, the irregular dimensions which may lead to error aggregation results are discussed and its formalization descriptions are presented. In order to deal with such irregular dimensions, a normal form of multidimensional data warehouse is proposed and an effective normalization algorithm is designed.
