Application of GIS technique to the management in irrigation districts

Application projects of GIS technique in irrigation management are put forward according to the operating principles of GIS. With an engineering instance, application methods of GIS are expounded. GIS can forecast scientifically water requirement in irrigation region, dispose reasonably water resources, and realize scientific irrigation in appropriate time and degree. GIS, together with communication network, data acquisition system and expert system of irrigation, can accelerate information, automation and intelligence to irrigation management.
