A TOSSIM-based Solution for the Simulation of Heterogeneous Sensor Networks

TOSSIM provides a method for simulating sensor networks in which every node runs the same application.However the application that needs to be run on each node in many sensor networks varies from node to node.In order to simulate these heterogeneous sensor networks in TOSSIM,this paper analyses the reason from the structure why heterogeneous sensor networks can not be simulated in TOSSIM.By extending the interface StdControl of the configuration Main and introducing a mechanism of controlling event-responses into TOSSIM,this paper resolves the problem that heterogeneous sensor networks can't be directly simulated in the single-thread model of TOSSIM,and successfully achieves the simulations of several heterogeneous sensor networks in TOSSIM.The analysis of simulation results shows that scalable simulation of heterogeneous sensor networks in TOSSIM is possible.
