Left-luggage event detection using multi planar homography

For the safety in public transportation and other public areas.a robust and practical method for automatic detection of abandoned luggage from surveillance video in crowded areas is proposed based on multi-camera.Firstly,a video blob detection method is used to detect MVO blobs and SVO blobs at multi-view scene.Then a multi-planar homographic constraint arithmetic is proposed to detect 3D floor location of the objects,and objects can be classified as luggage or man.At last,a heuristic pedestrian event detection model is built to capture the unattended luggage event and alarm.The experimental results of PETS2006 dataset show the left-luggage event can be detected effectively and the method is robut.
