Two-dimensional direction of arrival estimation of wideband signals based on virtual rotational invariance techniques

Based on the coherent signal-subspace method(CSM),a two-dimensional DOA estimating method of wideband signals has been proposed. At first, used virtual cross-correlation computation(VC~3)to form array output covariance matrix, and constructed two sub-arrays(true and virtual sub-array);then used the projector operator to form focusing matrix, and at final used ESPRIT method to es- timate the two-dimensional broadband signal arrival angle. This method can inhibit non-Gaussian noise impact on the algorithm, and can be extended array aperture, and does not require pre-angle estimates. The two-dimensional angles can be matched automatically. This can improve the speed of the algorithm.Computer simulation confirms the methods availability.
