GE Lie · Chinese Ergonomics · 2000
The effects of reverse video as type of highlighting on visual search performance in white and black background were investigated. The results show that: (1) There were negative effects of reverse video on visual search performance in both backgrounds.(2)The visual search performance is lowered by reverse video in all types of background, although the negative effect is not significant in white background.(3)There are obvious influence of background types on visual search performance in reverse vides condition, and the white background is conductive to improve the visual search performance.
