Study on the effectiveness of MTLDs in suppressing the earthquakes-induced motions in highrise building

MTLDs, a new type of control device is presented. It's parameters are found out by the optimization methods. Also a frequency design method is put forward for the MTLDS. The results of examples applying MTLDs to the highrise buildings indicate that even though there is some offset in the frequency tuning, the control efficency of MTLDs is not degraded. So we can conclude that MTLDs device has a relative wider effective frequency band than TLCD and SHTLD device. It is a more powerful device in suppressing the earthquake-induced motions in highrise buildings.
