On Identification of Chinese Sentential Topic Chain: a Perspective of Episode

There exist two views on the relationship between a Chinese topic chain and a Chinese sentence: the topic chain is roughly equal to aChinese sentence;all topic chains are notsentences.However,the twoviews fail to be adequately evidenced. This paperclaims thata study fromthe perspective of episode should help identify a Chinese sentential topic chain in spite of its inadequacy to provide a thorough solution to all the problems concerned.
