Following the progress of automation in electric power system,numerous data are presented to the policy deciders. However,certain poverty of knowledge may be hidden behind such a plenty of data. the data grubbing technology appeared recently can automatically and intellectually transform the numerous data into useful information and knowledge. The paper introduces the data grubbing model within the information processing system for relay protection faults, describes the preprocessing of data, and concerning the probabilit of deformation of the real-time information during its passage of appearance and transfer into diagnosis, Suggests the application of data grubbing technology based on Rough Collection Theory.
