H.264 Encoder Optimization for Video Conference Based on DM642 Platform

H.264 encoder is optimized in this paper for video conference application based on DM642 platform.The optimization process can be divided into three steps.First,a proper H.264 encoder is chosen to be the optimization prototype and some functions of it are clipped.Second,the motion estimation,the key function,is optimized.At last the specific optimization is performed based on corresponding platform.The optimized encoder is tested on DM642 platform,which confirms that the CIF format sequence can be encoded at a 20 f/s real-time speed.
