The aims of the paper are: to introduce geologic specimen database research program; to discuss main problems facing the software syst-em; to elucidate its technique application plan; to illustrate the way to settle the Oracle WebDB for Web database. Finally, the processes of setting up the geologic specimen database are expounded.
