A Clustering Algorithm Based on Sampling Estimate for Heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Networks

This paper proposes a clustering algorithm based on sampling estimate for heterogeneous wireless sensor networks.In the new clustering scheme,we sample some nodes from network to estimate the average residual energy of network.Nodes compete for cluster-head by the ratio from residual energy of node and the average energy of network,which make the selection of cluster-head more reasonable.The simulation results show that the new algorithm could achieve better load balancing and prolong the network lifetime.
