A New Technique of 3D Laser Survey of Finished Stopes in Metal Mines

Zhouquan Luo · Mining and Metallurgical Engineering · 2006

Considering the hidden danger in the finished stopes in underground metal mines in China,a new cavity survey method based on 3D laser scanning technology is proposed for the first time in China. The results of the survey experiment in Dachang Mine District,Guangxi and other related applications indicated that this method could enhance the survey accuracy and precision,by which can be obtained precise geometrical parameters of the emptied stope such as length, area, volume, deformation of roof and wall rock and so on.It provides a relatively reliable basis for the safety evaluation and control of emptied stopes and the design of mine stopping.
