Uncertainty and quality of spatio-temporal data is one of the fundamental issues in geographic information sciences, and a critical issue in the applications of geographic information systems. As the guidance in the sessionQuality of Spatio-Temporal Data and Modelsin ISPRS2008,this paper overviews the current developments on the studies of uncertainty and quality of spatio-temporal data, including the in the positional uncertainty of spatial objects, positional uncertainty of DEM data, uncertainty of remote sensing data, uncertainty of attribute data, uncertainty propagations in spatial analysis and operations, and uncertainty processing in spatial data capture.
