The Protection Cycle Based Self-Healing Mechanism on ATM Multicast Tree

This paper proposed a new self-healing mechanism based on pre-designed survivab le ATM (Code division multiple access) multicast tree,which considers any single link and node failure case.All the links on the multicast tree are included by different protection cycles.The node-neighboring protection cycles are connected by the connecting path which d oesn′t pass through the common nodes of the neighboring cycles in order to avoi d loop.When detecting the failure,the associated protection cycles and connectin g paths are active.The simulation results show the efficiency and reliability of the proposed mechanism.
