Autonomic computing in cluster rendering systems

The self-adaptation ability of cluster rendering systems to changes of the external environment and to internal events is improved by self-configuring,self-healing,self-optimizing,and self-protecting techniques in the cluster rendering system.This paper focuses on self-healing techniques with efficient methods presented for check pointing,rollback recovery,and system reconstruction.The methods based on the specific features of cluster rending systems can efficiently heal system problems.The autonomic computing system implemented on the Tsinghua Cluster Rendering System shows significant improvement in system management efficiency with less than 10% reduction in the rendering performance.
