The Principle of Sand Pile Model and Its Application in Power System

The power system blackout has the self-organized critical characteristics,and the power system overload has the same features as revealed by the synergetic theory which is based on the self-organized critical theory.A sand pile model is proposed in this paper that can vividly describe the synergetic theory.The corresponding program flow chart and programs are developed and the computation examples are provided.The distribution characteristics of sand particles are obtained by analyzing the calculation results of different computation examples.It is proved through computation that the sand pile model can well simulate the rules revealed by the synergetic theory.The computation results can provides a basis for further application of sand pile model in power system.
