Survey, classification and evaluation of image thresholding techniques

Image thresholding methods are surveyed. Their performances are compared and evaluated. Based on the analysis and comparison of the differences and similarities among them, they are categorized into five groups: clustering-based, histogram shape-based, entropy-based, spatial, and local adaptive thresholding methods.
