Image retrieval based on global and local dominant colors in MPEG-7

In order to improve the deficiency of global dominant color in describing the spatial relations,this paper firstly proposed a method based on local dominant color,then proposed combining characteristics of color features above,a method based on global dominant color and local dominant color in MPEG-7.Gave the method of extracting global dominant color and local dominant color,and introduced evaluation criterion used in MPEG-7 in detail and used it to evaluate the results.The experimental result shows that the retrieval performance obtained from combined features is superior to that obtained from single feature.
