This paper mainly discusses the semantic properties and syntactic constructing process of the specific dative constructionV+X+de(的)+O.Firstly,regarding VO as an ionized structure,it systematically describes the various and complex types of semantic properties and relations of this construction.Then it makes an exploration on the extension of different but related types of semantic relations,which paves the way to investigate the constructing process of V+X+de+O.To illustrate this,it provides the chīkuī(吃亏) type as an example and focuses on its conditions and ways of syntactic realization.
