The analysis and countermeasures to failures of LineGuard electronic devices

The principles of Emerson's LineGuard electronic devices based on Shafer GOV actuators are described in this paper.The common failures of these electronic devices are classified,and the analysis methods commonly used are proposed.The analysis of the comprehensive cause and the corresponding countermeasures are presented,especially the controllers’internal defects.At last,this paper describes the effects and countermeasures which deal with the failures of LineGuard electronic devices of the west-east pipeline.
