On Prefabricated Chunks and their Pragmatic Functions in Business English

Since formulaic chunks cover a wide range of subjects,it becomes a quite important element in linguistic study.The use of formulaic chunks is a common phenomenon in business English as well and it is also one of the important features of natural languages.This paper explores chunks' comprehensive pragmatic meanings and their multidimensional pragmatic functions in the use of business language.We should abide by the politeness and cooperative principle in using the formulaic chunks.
