High Level Mixed Load Balancing Algorithm in P2P Real-Time Distributed Data Exchange System

Jianhua Wang · Journal of Chinese Computer Systems · 2006

Based on the analysis of current load balancing in traditional systems such as C/S, B/S, a high level mixed load balancing algorithm in P2P real-time distributed data exchange system is proposed for high reliable data exchange in heterogeneous environment, in which a two phase mixed load balancing algorithm 2PLB combining static and dynamic load balancing strategy is adopted to adjust the load distribution. Comparing with pure static or dynamic load distribution strategies, the proposed 2PLB algorithm can avoid the metrics of adaption in pure static strategy, and also overcame the high level complexity in dynamic strategy, and can provide real-time load distribution with low cost, which is feasible for large scale P2P network data exchange with multi-channel, and can satisfied the need of high level QoS in load distribution and fault tolerance. System evaluations manifests the 2PLB algorithm is efficient and effective in load distribution in P2P data exchange and sharing, and the algorithm are now being used in our electric application system.
