Making Extension to the Halstead Model

Guangyang Wang · Microelectronics & Computer · 2002

Since1970nearly one hundred software reliability models have been established, most of them were built on the failure data collected from the testing stage, software reliability is defined as the probability of a program to run successfully under a given environment during a given period or a given amount of testing data.Few models relate reliability to reliability factors-developers,developing tools, complexity of software.Halstead model is the only model taking account for complexity of software. It's a pity that this model doesn't take the other two factors into account.Halstead model is extended by taking developer and developing tools into account in this paper. The extended model is especially useful for costumers.
