Calculation method for settlement and cracks of clay blanket

Clay blanket and the underlying soft layer will be settling, even cracking, after storage of reservoir. A calculation method for settlement of soft earth layer in course of drainage consolidation is proposed; and the possibility of cracking is estimated. Finally, the measures to accelerate and decelerate the settlement of clay blanket are discussed.
