Due to its widespread acceptance, USB has become the facto industry standard for connecting peripherals to PC′s and laptops. As the portable devices increase in popularity, there is a growing need for them to communicate directly with each other when a PC is not available. The OnThe Go Supplement meets this need. USB OnTheGo (OTG)is a supplement to the USB 2.0 specification. The USB OTG core features a USB device that can serve as either a master or a slave when connected to another USB device. The standard supports peripheraltoperipheral connectivity without the need for a host PC. It allows USB device to have peer topeer capability. The article discusses significant features of OTG supplement,including connectors,cable,dualrole device,HNP,SRP,and so on.
