TASKS FORKING MECHANISM AND PROCESS SCHEDULING STRATEGY IN A NETWORK PARALLEL COMPUTING ENVIRONMENT

Zhou Gui · Journal of Computer Research and Development · 1997

In a multi user network environment, the response time and running efficiency of parallel applications can be influenced by the distribution of parallel tasks and the varying work load in the network. By adding load balancing strategy to PVM and by modifying the process scheduling strategy, the tasks of parallel job can be distributed more reasonably, and its running speed can be less influenced by the variation of serial work load.
