Artificial neural network plays an important role in the early detection and diagnosis of the tumors for its adaptive,parallel and nonlinear characteristics.According to this,the principles and characters of artificial neural network are explained and its applications on the imaging,pathology,DNA microarray and protein biochip technology of the tumors are reviewed in the paper.The perspective of artificial neural networks are also summarized in the last.
