Security solution for active network based on certificate schemes

The absence of encryption and authentication in active networks causes many security problems. On the other hand, the tra- ditional model of encryption and authentication does not meet the requirements of active network. By making some modifications to the traditional certificate mechanism, a new scheme is proposed to enhance the security of active network. With this scheme deployed, a sending node could make it sure that the active packets it sent will only perform computations on reliable intermediate nodes; And an in- termediate node could now only perform computations on active packets sent by reliable nodes. Additionally, it provides authenticity, confidentiality and integrality to active packets.
