Promoter,an important cis-acting element,is an essential part in the vector for gene engineering expression.The way of promoter cloning is important for constructing genetic engineering vectors and expressing the aim proteins.Phloem-specific promoter plays an important role in lignin synthesis of flax fiber.This article introduced the structure and classification of promoter and summarized the promoter cloning methods and the current advances in cloning plant phloem-specific promoters.
