On the Condition of Polynomial Eigenvalue Problems

Condition numbers for polynomial eigenvalue problems have been investigated by Tisseur(2000), Dedieu and Tisseur(2003). By using projective metric, in this paper, a new kind of condition number is defined for homogeneous polynomial eigenvalue problems. The condition numbers defined are independent of the scaling of the coefficient matrices, and therefore may have more applications.
