The over-fast growth rate of TCP congestion window is one of the main factors that lead to frequent link contention and routing failure in wireless Ad Hoc networks. Based on recent research, a cross-layer design protocol was proposed that adaptively adjusted TCP congestion window growth rate and routing failure verifying policy based on link contention state sensing. Simulation results show that this cross-layer protocol notability improves the system throughput and decreases the network delay; moreover, it is fit for different traffic load over different topology networks.
