Simulation of the VPN Experiment Based on IPSec and GRE
Lin Wang · Research and Exploration in Laboratory · 2013
IPSec is a widely used network layer security agreement,to construct Virtual Private Network( VPN). It has its own limitations, and doesn't support IP multicast or broadcast traffic. In order to satisfy the multicast communication needs between business enterprise headquarters and branches or cooperation partners, based on the their own properties of IPSec and GRE,this paper proposes to combine with the security of IPSec and GRE for multicast support to establish logical tunnel, and builds VPN to cross unsafe public network infrastructure. The advantages of combining IPSec and GRE technology to establish tunnel are analyzed. Thus an experiment scheme with high feasibility as well as high flexibility is put forward. The simulation of this experiment is conducted based on GNS3. OSPF protocol. In this experiment, exchanging network information of private network, and simulative communication from a single site to many sites are verified by the scheme. It concludes that VPN technology solutions based on IPSec and GRE has a reference and promoting significance.
