The Analysis of MPEG-2 Multi-program System Multiplexing

In this paper, MPEG-2 multi-program system multiplexing is studied. In multi-program transmission environment,there are two ways of transcoding: independent or joint transcoding. For independent transcoding of MPEG-2 VBR video,frame shift and algorithm based on correlation of slice are proposed;For joint transcoding, we introduce the joint rate control strategy based on the rate distortion, which uses the concept of superframe. At the same time, the principle of TM5 rate control is explained. And the last part concludes this paper.
