Design of Digital System for Urban Waterlogging Online Monitoring and Information Service

Waterlogging is a common problem in many cities,and waterlogging warning systems in China have problems such as impractical implementations,poor real-time performance and incomplete model data. A digital system for online monitoring of urban waterlogging and information service was designed. The system was based on Internet of Things,Internet,GSM,PSTN,ZigBee network,GPRS and LAN,and adopted a unified technology platform(unified data protocol,communication network and database sharing) with a multi-level system architecture. The ZigBee site monitoring and control module, on-site wireless communication gateway,management center server,information service terminals and other hardware and software systems were developed. This system was successful in conducting online remote acquisition and control of engineering conditions,water,rainfall and all other urban drainage data, the online query of waterlogging data and control information,web publishing of dispatching control information and other service functions. Thus,fully digital management of urban waterlogging was complete and losses due to this phenomenon were reduced.
