Accelerating RTL Quality Assessment Method Based on CAD Tools

With the rapid development of digital integrated circuit,the scale of design is increasing fast and the circuit design has become more and more complicated.However,using the traditional flow under which front-end design is seperated from back-end is not enough to meet the time-to-market consideration.Therefore,a new design methodology RTL-QA and its application platform are given to meet the requirement.Front end designers runs automatic check scripts in five aspects,ie.code purification,code coverage,performance,test coverage and power.This method helps the IC designers to find the code defects early and assess the code quality and the design performance more easily.Our safe SoC which has been successfully taped out illustrates the effectiveness of this new methodology.
