Disks and nonlinear fractal image compression coding algorithm

A simple and nonlinear disk algorithm is designed,which can extend image encoding dictionary efficiently.This algorithm is based upon symmetry characteristic of rotation-overlap.Methods of connecting the inscribed circle's center point with the square side's point and regarding the connecting line and the inscribed circle's point of intersection as image point are employed,which simplifies the disk algorithm designed by Hong Yan and Popescu.This algorithm is simple in logic and easy in implementation.Experimental results show that the method not only extends the encoding dictionary efficiently but also obtains high compression ratio and signal-to-noise ratio and high quality rebuilding picture as well.
