By means of the concep of life-cycle,this paper analyses the whole life-cycle of automatic teller machines(ATM).The whole life-cycle of ATM includes six main processes of equipping,laying,operation,business,management and development.This paper focuses on the status of service quality and service efficiency closely related to the above processes.The brands of the equipped ATMs tend to be concentrating.The quantity of the laid ATMs increases rapidly.The operation of ATMs is generally favorable.The volume and amount of transaction increase greatly.The management mechanism of centralized operation is established.The substitution effect of ATMs is obvious and ATMs will have a very bright and promising development.Overall,ATMs in case banks operates well and the key indicators,such as the rate of availability and the rate of operation,are at an advanced level in the banking industry.
