Efficient Design Procedures for Robust Multi-Stage VQ of LPC Parameters at Low Bit Rate Speech Coding

This paper presents a new robust multi-stage vector quantization scheme for the LPC parameter's joint codebook aiming at solving the slow rate of convergence rate.The computer simulation results show that it can provide the transparent reconstructed speech when it is applied in the quantization of LSPs parameters.In comparison with seguential design algorithm,the new design not only accelerates the convergence rate,but improves the performance measurement of VQ.
