Discussion on Characteristics of Thunderstroke on CATV Equipments and protection measurements

This paper introduces the basic characteristics of thunder lightning,the low voltage overhead power lines' thunder lightning inducing and how CATV network is damaged by thunderstroke.CATV network equipments are near-ground appliances and are hence apt to be damaged by the breakdown over the ground which transferred through the power lines.There for,the key of protecting against thunderstroke is power isolation,thunderstroke releasing and entire connecting of stranded steel wire.All the above can enhance grounding effect and dispersedly release the strike back current of earth potential.
