The progression of image segmentation——the chief element of image processing

Image segmentation is the most elementary and important technique in image processing.In this paper,the general methods of medical image segmentation,mainly including threshold segmentation,neural net work,fuzzy segmentation,genetic algorithm,statistic method,and special model are sketched,and a review of the progression and application of medical image segmentation techniques is given.
