Test and Analysis of Extensible Cluster Gateway with Multi-Entry and Single IP

The general method to implement single access point in cluster is transmitting the incoming requests to real servers by one front-end node as a gateway, which can well resolve the single entry. But it is easy to lead to single point of failure and difficult to extend the performance of the gateway. In this paper we present a kind of multi-entry gateway solution and implement it. The gateway consists of multiple entry nodes, each has the same IP and MAC address dispatching the packets separately by filtering the incoming packets according to their source IP. All of these are transparent to the clients. The entry nodes are scalable and the performance of the gateway is better. The test results show the solution has better accessibility and throughput than single machine system. Its implementation is easy.
