Simulation Study on an Efficient Multiple Access Protocol for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

Based on the concept of contention reservation and polling transmission,a user-dependent perfect-scheduling multiple access(UPMA) protocol for supporting node mobility and multihop architecture in wireless multihop mobile ad hoc networks is described.Then its performance is evaluated by OPNET.Simulation results show that the proposed protocol can greatly improve end-to-end transmission efficiency of traffic over multihop architecture.
