THE DESIGN OF AN AGENT CO-OPERATIVE LANGUAGE
Wu Quan · Chinese Journal of Computers · 1998
Distributed computing can be regarded as a process in which agents co--operate. Co-operation is based on communication. This paper puts forward the three levels of agent communicationlanguage firstly, and analyses the limitations of those well-known agent communicationenvironments (tools). Then the authors raise a new agent co-operative language ACOL. ACOL is based onKQML, and adds functions of supporting communication among agents. The presentedmethod is defining some primitives and corresponding parameters, according to the concepts ofshared groupprivate groupand semaphore of group which are put forward in this paper. Finally, through two simple cases, the authors illustrate the benefits of ACOL in practice.
