To realize the 3Dvisualization and the quantitative analysis on plant roots system in situ, aiming at the problems that a mass of data points from the skeleton model lead to the information redundancy in visualization and interactive measurement,a new modeling method based on the 3dimension plant roots system's skeleton model was proposed.A new way to convert a set of paralleling 2Dslices original data into the visualized modeling by establishing a sparse cloud points model was proposed. The software system of the platform was developed and the simulation experiments provided an analysis of algorithmic availability. This model performs well at approximating the realistic roots in the simulation, and it is of great importance to the visualization and quantitative analysis in the root system.
