Research on Real-time Metadata Management in Data Warehouse

A software architecture for real-time distributed metadata management is proposed. The architecture is based on common warehouse metamodel (CWM) specification. CWM metamodel identifies the structure and semantics of integrating and exchanging, while XML metadata interchange (XMI) provides real-time metadata exchanges and shared mechanism, and only an adapter is needed to correspond to accessing dynamically metadata of distributed software component. Experiments show the feasibility and validity of this architecture.
