Analysis on Resistance to Stem Rust of Wheat Cultivars from Yunnan

To appraise the resistance to wheat stem rust of the wheat cultivars in Yunnan Province,102wheat cultivars and 68landraces were investigated for their resistances to two experimental races21C3CTHQM and 34MKGQM,and mixed physiological races of wheat stem rust at adult stage during2012-2013.The results indicated that 65wheat cultivars such as Fengmai 39,Jingmai 10,Yumai 3and 3landraces were resistant to wheat stem rust,which accounted for 63.7%and 4.4%,respectively.It was showed the resistance to wheat stem rust of landraces was poor,and no ideal germplasm resources was found;the wheat cultivars showed middle resistance to wheat stem rust,but some new bred wheat varieties and cultivars that had been used in production of large area were highly susceptible,so we should pay more attention to this situation.
