Establishment of visible logistics management information system or transparent logistics supply chain has become an efficient means and path for improving enterprise competition, decreasing inventory and bullwhip effect and quicken capital turnover. In steel enterprise, production is continuous and material flow is huge,so management of logistics supply chain occupies vital important place in production and business.Establishment of visible logistics management information system is particularly important for improvement of competition force.Design and application of a certain steel enterprise's visible logistics management information system, which is a leading one in china,is introduced.GPS (Global Position System) was adopted to acquire longitudinal and latitudinal positioning information of vessels and vehicles, then mapping from longitudinal and latitudinal information to geographic information was realized by use of GIS (Geographic Information System).Advanced open technical standard, such as J2EE and XML,was used to implement integration of corporation full logistics, visible scheduling, management and monitoring.Direct connection with enterprise ERP system was realized and modules for logistics information management, scheduling and monitoring of consolidators were embeded in the system. So benefits were obtained both in steel enterprise and in logistics enterprise.
