A Novel Method of Diffusive Reflection Components Extraction on Inhomogeneous Media Surface

On inhomogeneous media surface,highlights are linear combinations of diffusive and specular reflection components.Combining the reflection characteristics and linear relationship between diffusive reflection components on inhomogeneous media surface,in this paper,a new photometric linearization method is presented which estimates linear combination coefficients between realistic images under different lighting directions and extracts diffusive reflection components on inhomogeneous media surface.The experimental results show that diffusive reflection components can be effectively separated in realistic images of ceramic surfaces using this technique.
